At Hola we love introducing the Spanish Culture to our students.

That’s why María taught some of our students how to cook a tasty tortilla de patatas or also called tortilla española.




Here you have our recipe:


Ingredients: (for 4 people)

· 5/6 potatoes · 5 eggs · Olive oil
· 1 onion · 2 garlic cloves · salt


  • Peel the potatoes and cut them into very small cubes.
  • In a large skillet put a lot of oil and pour the potatoes when the oil is very hot. The oil should almost cover the potatoes.

    Stir from time to time, add salt.

  • Passed 5 minutes, add the onion and garlic (cut very small) and stir a little.

  • In a bowl beat the eggs with a fork and add salt.

  • When the potatoes are soft but not fried, remove them with a slotted spoon and mix them with the egg.

  • Turn off the frying pan, remove almost all the oil; Just leave a few drops so the pan is not dry.

  • Turn the fire again and pour the egg mixture and potatoes. Let brown on one side for a few minutes and over medium heat.

    Then put a dish on the pan. Immediately put your left hand on the plate and with the other hand turn the tortilla to make it brown on the other side.
